Kilbraur ~ Brora, Sutherland, Highlands
Kilbraur Wind Energy Co-operative Limited www.kilbraur.coop
Share offer launched 27th August 2008 ~ closed 24th October 2008.
The wind turbines have been constructed and are now operational.
Dunbeath ~ Dunbeath, Highlands
Planning Application was originally submitted in August 2005, with the Supplementary Information submitted in October 2006. A Technical Addendum was finalised for submission in August 2007.
Cushnie ~ Aberdeenshire, Scotland
The site is situated approximately 47km West of Aberdeen. With ongoing enviromental studies the farm hopes to consist of a maximum of 7 wind turbines.
Nigg Hill ~ Northeast of Inverness, Scotland
The site is situated 32km north east of Inveness. The planning application was submitted in January 2008. If successful the wind farm will consist of 5 Turbines.
Falck Renewables, a wind energy subsidiary of the Falck Group, is developing over 300MW of wind projects with RDC Scotland Limited (RDC) utilising the resources of West Coast Energy. For further information on these projects please visit www.wind4energy.co.uk
Projects in other portfolios include:
Torrance Farm Community Wind Co-operative ~ Harthill, North Lanarkshire
The planning application was submitted in August 2010. If successful the wind farm will consist of 3 turbines.
Cartland Muir Community Wind Co-operative ~ Carluke, South Lanarkshire
The
proposed site is in the Cartland Muir plantation, 3KM South West of Carluke town centre.
The Community Wind Co-operative will consist of two commercial wind turbines. The turbine hubs would be at
a height of 80m with blades around 40m long creating an installed capacity of approximately 5MW
of green energy - enough to power 3,000 homes for a year which is
around half of all the homes in Carluke.
The
proposed site is located approximately 4KM West from the village of
Crawfordjohn.
The current proposal is for two commercial wind turbines with hubs at
85m and blades around 35m long, creating an installed capacity of approximately 5MW
of green energy - enough to power 2,600 homes a year or, according to
the national statistics, approximately all the homes within a 25KM
radius. If each one of those homes were to invest £1,250 each, they
would own the entire project and generate enough renewable energy for
the next 20 years.
